ILONA MESKO (HU) 27 years of age, living in Budapest for 12 years. Graduated at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Musics on faculty music composing. At the moment she is having her studies on faculty conducting at the same place. Leader end establisher of the Ventoscala Symphonic Orchestra since its start. She works as a coach at the Weiner Leó Secondary School for Music since 2000. Since 2007 she teaches music composing as a main subject, as well as its accessorial subjects. Beyond this participates at a chamber music ensemble playing contemporary musics. Member of Artisjus Hungarian Society for Copyright Protection, the Hungarian Composers’ Union and the Vántus István Society. Cooperated in the music management board of the University of Theater and Film Budapest, the Opera Institute of Liszt Ferenc Academy of Musics, at the Radio France Festival in Montpellier with artists of worldfamous renown. Her music composing teachers have been: Vajda János, Kocsár Mikós, Csemiczky Miklós és Petrovics Emil. First prized in 2002 at the Vántus István Music Composing Competition, which was appointed for under 35 Hungarian composers. First prized in 2003 at Kincses Composing Competition having been organized by Liszt Ferenc Academy of Musics, at this competition gained the best performer status in 2001. Took part in the Sári József Austrian as well as Betsy Jolas French music composing courses as a scholarship sponsored student. In 2004 gained the opportunity from the Liszt Ferenc Academy to go to New York to perform at the Juillard School her Ashed Lovers. Won the Kodály Zoltán Scholarship in 2006. Meskó is a regular participant of contemporary events in Hungary, e.g. the Music of Our Age, Series of World Premieres, Youth Contemporary Music Evenings, Budapest Autumn Festival, Spring Festival as well as the Mini Festival. In 2004 she was commissioned by the Hungarian Academy in Rome and in 2007 by the Liszt Academy to write a piece for the Trombone Contest where she was invited as a jury member, too. Her composition will be the compulsory work at the Bartók Béla International Choir Competition in the final round. Her repertoire as a conductor consists of over 150 plays already, with more than 70 concerts. As a co-conductor she was invited to Tirgu Mures (Romania), the Miskolc Symhonic Orchestra as well as at Brassai Sámuel Chamber Orchestra.
